With the majority of our clients in their 40's, 50's and beyond I believe it's super important to get people warming up properly. Being in my 40's I notice when I neglect this I really tighten up and things like back pain come in!
Our age definitely should not define the type of training we do but as we age we must be warming up properly and recovering more!
One of the most neglected areas for most is the iliopsoas hip flexor which shortens as we age and when we sit all day!
This can lead to back pain and other imbalances in our body.
2 simple drills I love to do are a Pulsed Hip Flexor Mobilisation and a Wide Stance Hip Drop.
These are great for some great basic hip mobilisation prior to training or even just throughout your day and they concentrate on loosening the hip area!
